Over the past decade, there has been a significant rise in the demand for massage therapy in BC. Registered Massage Therapists in BC have exceptionally high educational standards and are trained in a wide variety of modalities. Research demonstrates that massage is an effective therapy for a range of musculoskeletal injuries and can provide an alternative to surgery or drugs for the management of pain and dysfunction.
A few examples of conditions that massage therapy can be effective in treating are overuse injuries, tendinitis, sprains and strains, whiplash, low back pain, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. For a comprehensive list of conditions that massage therapists can treat, please see the MTABC website (under links).
